Now, I wouldn't really call myself the "prodigal son" seeing as how I didn't leave Texas to move somewhere else and live recklessly and/or extravagantly. Quite the opposite in fact. I left to go to school in Boston and get my butt handed to me for four years while I got my degree from MIT. I ended up sticking around in the Northeast for another five years to work.
But, after 9 years of brutal winters, I'm back. As of August 2009, I'm back in Dallas, living in the Uptown area, and looking forward to exploring the city as an adult. I'm expecting that the city has a whole lot more to offer than the movie theaters, IHOP's, and such that I hung out at while I was a highschool student growing up in Plano.
The purpose of this blog is to chronicle and share the findings that I uncover while rediscovering Dallas and all that the city has to offer. I'll do my best to cover a wide range of topics, but overall topics are going to be things that appeal to me: a fairly regular guy in his mid twenties.
Here's a fairly accurate picture of me. I got tired of the "spikey haired asian" look so I'm growing my hair back out. It's not quite to this length yet, but I'm working it. If you see me around, stop and say hi ... I'll buy you a drink.
And yes, I'm working on my tan. Cut me some slack, I've just spent the better part of a decade living somewhere that never gets any sun. =)
